Frequently asked questions.
Do you come out to site to measure up?
For the majority of our jobs, we work off of a strictly ‘made to order’ basis. This means that we do not typically do site measures, rather we work from provided measurements, photos as well as your chosen door & hardware selections via our online forms. We often do video call/facetime consults with our clients also which is typically more than enough information we need to provide our high standard of service. We do this so that we can stay competitive & so that we can service as many clients as possible within the promised time frames with our small team. If you are within 15km of our workshop location then we can sometimes arrange a check measure, but this is depending on staff availability only.
How long is the typical lead time for an order?
Typically we are able to order or make your door, complete any associated prep work & get the job ready to book in installation within 3-4 weeks of an accepted quote. This is depending on demand throughout the year & we will let you know our estimated lead time upon request.
Do you offer any warranties on your product?
On any ordered doors or hardware, you are entitled to the manufacturers warranty which varies depending on brand & type of product you have purchased.
As for our workmanship, we provide a lifetime warranty on all workmanship completed by Expression Doors, that means that any work that may be deemed as faulty or in need of adjustment due to error in installation, is completely covered by us, for life.
How long does the installation process take?
We have built out our systems & processes with the aim to reduce unnecessary stress & time taken at your home on installation day, that’s why we do as much preparation work in our shop before coming to site to complete any works. Here is a general rough guideline of time taken for each of our services;
Barn Doors: Typically between 2-4 hours depending on type of door, size of door, number of doors & access
Entrance Doors: Depending on the size of door & complexity, a full conversion could take anywhere between 4-8 hours from start to finish. (Entrance door jobs are always completed in 1 day guaranteed due to the security risk)
Internal Doors: This varies greatly depending on the job as there are many different types of internal door & hardware combinations that will vary in time. We can give you more information about your individual job upon request.
Where are your doors made?
All barn doors are made from scratch in our workshop in Ingleburn, all of our entrance doors, internal doors, external doors & hardware are sourced from Australian suppliers, see the catalogues page on our website for a full list of suppliers & their respective catalogues.
Can I pick up/do you supply?
We offer supply only/pick up for our barn doors & barn door hardware. Any other doors we do not currently have space to stock & we only order on a job to job basis. If you are after supply only of other doors & hardware get in touch & we can refer you to some suppliers.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Most jobs require a 50% deposit paid prior to any jobs being commenced for manufacture or ordering.
